The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sets a new best at the ‘Ring

It’s been a great month for the Chevrolet Corvette, with the mighty ZR1 setting a new American production car record at Germany’s Nürburgring early this month and now the 2012 Corvette Z06 has set a new personal best of 7:22.68 around the world’s most well-known road course.

The Nürburgring's Nordschleife course measures 12.9 miles and has an incredible 154 turns, along with a straightaway that allows cars to show their top speeds. In this case, the 2012 Corvette Z06 hit an impressive speed of 171 miles per hour towards the end of the huge closing stretch en route to finishing the lap in just 7:22.68.
